Connections Through Creativity

About
Connections Through Creativity

Hi, I’m Rebekah

I’m an artist, educator, and someone who has always believed that creativity is more than just making art—it’s a way to understand ourselves, connect with others, and feel safe being exactly who we are.

I’m happy you’re here.

What I Do

Through Connections Through Creativity, I offer inclusive community art classes for children and adults, along with workshops, creative resources, and experiences designed to support emotional expression, confidence, and connection.
These aren’t traditional art classes focused on perfection but rather process and learning. They are spaces where people can explore, play, express, and grow—at their own pace, in their own way.

My Values

Inclusion

Inclusivity is at the heart of everything I do. I am committed to creating safe, welcoming spaces for people of all abilities, backgrounds, and experiences—where everyone feels seen, supported, and free to be themselves.

Creativity

I believe everyone is an artist. Creativity is not something you’re born with or without—it’s a skill that can be nurtured and developed. We all have the ability to create, express, and explore in our own unique ways.

Learning

I value lifelong learning because it keeps life meaningful, evolving, and full of possibility. As we continue to learn and grow, we not only enrich our own lives but also contribute to a more understanding and connected world.

My Experience

From the moment I was able to sit up, my mom placed a paintbrush in my hands. That early introduction to art sparked a lifelong love and deep appreciation for creativity and the ways it can support, heal, and connect us.
Over the years, I have worked as an autism support worker, a preschool PLAYcoach, and I currently work as a preschool early childhood educator. I am also a mother, an artist, and a student working toward my education degree—each role shaping the way I show up in my work.
In 2019, I began offering inclusive community art classes, creating spaces where individuals of all ages and abilities could explore creativity in a safe and supportive environment. I continued to adapt and navigate these classes through the challenges of COVID, staying committed to connection and accessibility.
Today, I am excited to be growing these classes again and expanding my offerings, continuing to build a creative community rooted in inclusion, expression, and connection.

Approach

My approach blends creativity with social and emotional learning, encouraging:
– Self-expression
– Confidence-building
– Connection to self and others
– Exploration of emotions through art
– Learning art techniques by using a variety of art materials, ways of creating and other learned skills

Whether in a classroom, workshop, or creative resource, my goal is always the same…
To create an environment where people feel safe to show up as themselves.

My Story

Growing up with osteogenesis imperfecta type 1 and ADHD, I often felt like I didn’t quite belong. I struggled to learn in the same ways as others and spent much of my childhood either in a wheelchair or in casts. There was a lot of time spent on the outside—trying to find where I fit.
Art became that place for me.
It was where I felt safe, capable, and understood.

Through creativity, I was able to express what I couldn’t always put into words. It gave me a sense of control, confidence, and connection during times when those things felt out of reach.
As I grew older, I began to realize that I wasn’t the only one who needed a space like that. There were—and still are—so many people who feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of where they belong.
That’s where Connections Through Creativity was born.
I didn’t just want to create art—I wanted to create spaces where others could feel what I felt when I found creativity: safe, supported, and free to be themselves.
I’ve brought these practices into my work, into my home as a mother, and into my own life. And now, I share them with my community—because I know how powerful it can be to have a space where you are truly seen and accepted.

Let’s get creative…

Whether you’re joining a class, booking a workshop, or exploring creative resources,
I’m so glad you’re here.
You don’t need to be “good at art.”
You just need to be open to the experience
